Reviews and Ratings
The hotel has a lovely setting, right across from the pool, but access to certain areas requires an expensive treatment, which may deter adult guests. The service is exceptional, especially for exploring Donegal town, its castle, and the nearby beaches. The location offers a romantic and beautiful experience, perfect for a short escape. The dining is very delicious, with a small but lovely buffet, and the staff is fantastic.
The hotel offers pleasant, comfy rooms but can be a bit warm at times. The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating, providing helpful tips for exploring the area. The location, though charming in a castle, lacks some expected spa features. Dining is satisfactory but could be improved, especially for a 5-star hotel.
My stay at the hotel was fantastic. The rooms were fab, with really comfy big beds. They were spacious and beautiful, although the room wasn't available until 6 pm on the day of check-in, which was a bit disappointing. The service was top-notch, especially the bar staff who took the time to greet everyone nicely and even gave us some delicious gin recommendations. The location was perfect to visit with someone special and had a cozy restaurant just off the bar. The dining experience was delicious, and the hand-pulled noodles were some of the best I've ever had. Overall, a great stay with a few minor hiccups.
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The rooms were luxurious with comfy chesterfield lounges and underfloor heating in the bathroom, making the stay very comfy. The multiple stairs between rooms added a quirky touch to the experience. The birthday surprise arranged by the receptionist was a nice personal touch.
Although the rooms were not in the castle and needed attention in terms of cleanliness and maintenance, they were spacious and had nice products. The lack of mini-bar items and the additional charges for confectionery items were a downside. The service was exceptional, with the staff going out of their way to ensure a great experience. The location was perfect for exploring Donegal town, nearby beaches, and scenic drives. The dining experience offered a good variety of foods, although there were moments of inconsistency with the chef.
I had a mixed experience at this hotel. The rooms were beautifully decorated with exceptional bathrooms, but the upgrade in a five-star hotel was disappointing. The location was lovely for a romantic getaway but more suited to couples than families. The dining experience was fantastic with delicious choices every morning, though the price could impact the value for money. Overall, a memorable stay with some highs and lows.
